This is a gimbal camera, not a 360 camera. You choose the orientation before or during the shoot. The 8K horizontal resolution makes it easy to crop vertical for Reels/Shorts without losing quality.

Simple Settings for Pacific Aqua Content

Default setting: 4K 16:9 horizontal @ 30fps. It covers 90% of shots for both YouTube and Reels/Shorts.

03 / The Simple Rule

Horizontal First. Vertical Second.

Why Horizontal First

YouTube and the website need horizontal. 8K/4K horizontal gives plenty of resolution to crop into vertical for Reels/Shorts without losing quality.

When to Shoot Vertical Only

Only when the shot is definitely for Reels/Shorts/TikTok and will never be used on YouTube or the website. Example: a quick selfie-style clip.

Keep the Action Centered

Frame the main subject, damage, tool, or finished room in the center 50% of the frame. This keeps it safe when cropping to vertical.

Avoid Fast Gimbal Moves

Slow, smooth pans look professional. Fast whips look like a videogame and make people scroll away.

04 / Audio

Microphone Setup

Bad audio ruins good footage. The Luna Ultra has a built-in wind guard and works with Insta360 Mic systems, but a wireless lav is the best choice for job-site content.

Recommended: Wireless Lavalier Mic

Clip it on Luis or whoever is explaining the job.
DJI Mic 2, Rode Wireless GO II, or Insta360 Mic system.
Works whether the camera is across the room or handheld.
Cleaner sound than camera-mounted mics in loud demo environments.

Backup: Phone Voice Memo

If no wireless mic, record narration on a phone in a quiet room after the shoot.
Lample Media can sync it to the footage in editing.
This is the simplest option for Spanish-speaking crew and English final videos.

06 / Daily Workflow

What Luis and the Crew Do On Site

Before Work Starts

Check Luna Ultra battery and SD card.
Clip wireless mic on whoever will speak.
Confirm signed release for the job site.

During the Job

Record 10–30 seconds of each stage: before, demo, drying, rebuild, finished room.
Use 4K horizontal for almost everything.
Keep the important detail in the center of the frame.
Let the gimbal do the work — slow moves, no fast whips.

End of Day

Upload clips to shared drive, WhatsApp, or Dropbox.
Note the city, project type, and any surprises found.
Charge batteries and clear SD card for next day.

Lample Media

Review footage, select best story angles.
Edit horizontal version for YouTube/website.
Crop vertical version for Reels/Shorts/TikTok.
Add English captions, music, hooks, and CTAs.
Post and report weekly.
